how does drug abuse affect teen lives and how does it affect teens family and friends?

i am doing a project on Teens and drug abuse If you can answer my question that would be awesome!!!!

It affects teen lives by taking away their focus on positive activities, such as working, learning, being around friends that are not on drugs. They sleep too much and let their hygiene go. They isolate themselves from their family, become depressed and display hostile behavior. They often turn to illegal activities to supply their habit.
It wreaks havoc on the family. The rest of the children often suffer because there is so much focus on emotional upset the drug abuse can cause within the household. The parents are worried, often taking it out on the other kids and everyone is walking on eggshells around each other and the teen. It steals peace from everyone. It can effect the family financially if the teen is destructive or stealing or even in jail. Then there is the expense of detox or facilities if that becomes a need or a mandate from the courts.
It affects friends by changing the dynamics of the relationship. It’s very sad and unless the friends are strong, it can destroy friendships. The friends usually hang in there for awhile and try to talk some sense into the teen. They eventually begin just not hanging around together as much and sadly lose touch.

Well, when I was a teen I was obsessed with tripping. It effected me by causing me to ignore my schooling, disrespect my parents and it opened a door to a life I was’nt prepared for. As an adult I started using harder drugs.

well in my family you could automatically tell whos messing up their life and who isn’t .

the ones who havent abused drugs or burned bridges because of it have a great life , good woman/man , healthy active kids , and a good job .

now , the one who HAVE abused drugs practically stay on the streets . they are never in a stable relationship , their kids talk back to them cruelly [mind you theyre only about 5-8 years old] , they always feel the need to get high or drunk to have a good time , they’ve gotten fat/skinny and really ugly .

it’s hard to see my family go through this but my parents often use them as an example or how drugs can have a huge impact on your life . they often try to get me to hang with them sometimes but i always have an excuse handy .

i mean , im not the most perfect person , i used to drink on the weekends all the time juss to hang with my friends but i’ve gotten too grown for that life . & after i have this baby , my drinking days will be limited to occassionally instead of every weekend .
