Why are so many people in this forum talking about drugs instead of actual boxing?
February 27th, 2010 | by admin |For instance you all talk about Xylocaine ,Lindocaine ect.
I say leave that up to the athletic commissions ,and lets just enjoy some good old boxing ,wouldn’t you say?
Or is everyone abandoning the sweet science?
I think the Mayweathers started all this as well ,but Pacquaio made people wonder if it is true when he refused to take the blood test.
Drugs is sports are very real & it’s valid conversation.
I think if we can get on Pac-Man for running from drug testing, then we can’t be too upset when Pacquiao fans bring up Lidocaine use. It’s only bad when people choose to Lie to express their views.

Wiseman, I couldn’t agree more bro.
This section (apparently) is for boxing. There is a drugs section elsewhere if people want to talk about that.
EDIT: You see, that is why JON and many others are good, proper Top Contributers on this forum. He is a Pacquiao fan but he doesn’t downplay other boxers and their achievements (cough Mayweather cough).
Also, what’s with thumbs down? Can’t you Pactards face the truth?
EDIT: LOL Dewey is the definition of brilliance:
Quote from Dewey:
"How can one talk about Manny PUNK OUT without talking about JUICE?
Can you talk about Ben Johnson, Marion Jones, Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, et al., without talking about JUICE?
Pac fans COMPLETELY IGNORE JUICE when talking about PUNK OUT’S phony awards, etc."

Sorry bro. I just asked a question about the drugs. LOL. But my question isn’t as bad as all the other people who talk about xylocaine, lindocine whatever.

it’s because the Mayweathers started this, the fans just reacted. pac haters keep posting about peds, steroids while floyd haters keep posting xylocaine, cocaine etc. we should not blame the fans in my honest opinion.
i agree, we should let the athletic commission decides on which testing protocols will they use, nor me nor you, or the mayweathers have the right to changed it. peace

I agree with my good friend DT here! I am frankly getting a bit tired of the drug talk being talked about a lot. I dont mind it being discussed at all, but the way it has been discussed in an unprofessional and uncivilized manner is extremely frustrating. I wish some people may leave that issue alone because any educated and civilized individuals knows that in this world, making stuff up to destroy one’s name is pathetic. I have stayed out of this forum for a while because of the drug stuff issue, hopefully it can change and we may all mature enough and discuss boxing instead of uncivilized accusations and make up fairy tale stories.

The NSAC ordered Pac to submit to random drug tests under the Suspect Athete rule. Does anybody recall Pac giving a urine sample during negotiations wit Floyd? That was done under the NSAC suspect athlete rule. As the NSAC had begun the tests under that rule to begin a profile of Pacs urine, Pac fled both NSAC juristiction and contractual drug testing with Floyd to Dallas. Leaving it up to athletic commisions simply did not and does not work when a slippery character like Pac is in the equation.
Finally, if Barry Bonds refused drug tests for $40 million for 3 at bats and then fled to Japan Leagues to play for a fraction of the pay, the Baseball forums would be very busy with Bonds/Drugs talk. Add to that Bonds stating several reasons being afraid of needles, hurt feelings, makes him too weak physically and mentally there would not be a single American to buy his story.
The drug talk only continues because Pacfans buy Pacs ridiculous story only.

Bc many contributer are poisoning the proverbial watering hole with nonsense. My issue isn’t even with the drug debate, so much as it is with the fighter bashing. The thing that erks me is the statements poster make that have zero factual foundation to stand upon.
Notice more of the more intellectual poster responded to this question, minus a few outliers

I am more concerned with Pacquiao vs Clottey and Mayweather vs Mosley.
These drug arguments can be pretty amusing to read though.

Most questions begin with > "WHO DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST – - -?" ETC, I feel it is hard to have an honest debate when some boxers are highly rated by questioners. For example, Roy Jones jr but fail to mention he has used Steroids ?? for me all bets are off and he does not deserve one tiny bit of acclaim because of that. The words "SWEET" and "SCIENCE" DOES NOT APPLY TO JONES AND ANY OTHER SPORTS PERSON WHO HAS USED STEROIDS OR A DRUG AS AN ENHANCEMENT.

Do boxing fans seriously think that PED’s decide the outcome of a boxing match and not the skill of the fighters? For the sake of argument, let’s say that Manny is a juicer and gets as big as Floyd in body and strength, wouldn’t that just make the fight even? And I’ve always thought that boxing is about the skill and technique. I never thought that the Mayweather fans think that PEDs will surely make one win a fight.
