    It’s been going on for a long time. I haven’t witnessed it personally, but my father in law was an officer in the Mexican army. He retired because so many of his friends in the army were being offered bribes from the drug gangs. They offer money to the officers so they will let them run drugs through their area. If they don’t accept the bribes they are threatened with death. These things were going on back in the 1980s when my father in law retired.
