With the news from Mexico every day about how they’re losing the country to the Drug Lords?
February 14th, 2010 | by admin |why is it that neither Democrats nor Republicans want to do anything serious about illegal immigration? Is securing the Latino vote so important to our leaders that they’re willing to do nothing (even if the current drug crisis in Mexico will surely mean more illegals fleeing to the U.S.)
money and history. It’s also a matter of perspective. As for the current drug war going on in Mexico, well, it’s been here in the USA. I live in Oregon and we’ve had problems with illegal drug activity in our public forests. It’s already here, just not as open and bloody as in Mexico.
This is the result of prohibition. Prohibition of alcohol gave us organized crime and prohibition of drugs has given us the current gang problem. Both entities used the illegal substances to fund weapons and to gain a secure foothold in society. It’s in the best interests of the cartels to send illegals over to take care of the illegal grows in our national parks and other public lands.
It’s my belief that a lot of cartel money makes its way into political war chests to keep the status quo.
Take away the illegality, take away the incentive for obscene profits and for the carnage that goes with prohibited substances. We have seen this before. Just think Al Capone…
I digress.
The fact is that there is not enough money to lock the border down, and furthermore, there are vested business interests that also are a factor. How do you propose to stop it? How do you effectively seal up our borders? How do you rope off the sea? The air?
There’s those business interests, as well. How much are you willing to pay for vegetables? Who populates most of the low rung service positions? That would be immigrants, in present and in history. Typically, agriculture, landscaping and domestic services are provided by low wage workers. Legal workers want benefits and they are entitled to certain federal and state protections. This is why outsourcing has become such a problem. Furthermore, the immigration issue pales when you compare it to the effects of outsourcing. Outsourcing has done more damage to the American way of life than any illegal immigrant.
This is a complex issue with no one answer and no easy answer. I do not state how I feel about illegal immigration, nor will I. But, I do ask that you consider this; if it were you in their shoes, what would you do to remove your family from harm? If it were me, I’d find ways in through rat holes if I had to.
Desperation moves mountains.

Mexico is not losing the country to the Drug Lords. The Mexican Military is very powerful.. the Drug Lords don’t have a chance.
But the organizations such as La Raza has made that vote important. They can sway almost 11% of the population to their way of doing things. That percentage rises in border states, but that increase tends to be the illegal aliens voting. Congress simply did not do anything.. it is going to hurt and cost money to get it fixed and that sort of incompetence is the reason the Congress has a 15% approval rating. Congress thinks it is because they don’t wear petunias in the lapels and 80% of the people of this country do not want to see one single member of Congress re-elected.

These aren’t relating actions.
However Mexicans, just like Americans, desire political stability, economic opportunity and security.
Mexico’s corrupt government is unable to provide any of these desires.

The Latino vote is importantant to both Democrats and Republicans, so don’t expect them to back off their support for amnesty. But call and/or write your congressman or -woman and tell them what you think. And remind them that more than 80 people in Phoenix, AZ have been kidnapped or killed by Mexican drug trafficers and we need to stop this crap now.
My own view is that the best defense against illegal immigrants, particularly illegal ones, is an M-16.

We’ll be using the "Amero," the new currency that will save us all from the economic woes this stinkin’ dollar has visited upon us. If we were to shut down the borders, unifying the countries would only be that much more difficult. To paraphrase 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Behold, the old order is passing; welcome the new world order!"
