Are people in Drug Treatment Centres allowed to call home?
March 1st, 2010 | by admin |I know someone who is currently in treatment and he’s calling home, harassing his wife, blaming her for his addiction, etc…
With kids at home, she doesn’t need the crap he’s throwing at her, although I know that this can’t be easy for him either.
Should she contact the treatment centre and tell them what he’s doing?
I have been in a treantment facility and was not allowed to call home, unsupervised. The first 2 weeks I was not allowed to call home at all. The try to keep you from the environment that you just left behind as much as possible for obvious reasons.
She should probably tell the facility that he is making harmful calls to her. It seems like they are better off separated for a period of time.
good luck

Absolutely.
There are a couple of things your friend can do to report the abuse depending on how far she is willing to go.
She can notify the treatment center, and depending on the program, they can restrict his calling privileges. She can change her phone number. Or, she can file a restraining order with the police.
If her husband is in inpatient treatment then his addiction problems are severe and that is not a person who should have contact with her children.
If she hasn’t done so already, your friend should file for divorce and seek sole custody.
