    Tried to do this …
Tried to do this rapid detox but my insurance (bluecross blue shield) didn’t cover it. Only covered cold turkey programs. So I went with long term outpatient suboxone therapy and I’m all good :) I’ve relapsed 4 times but since my last relapse I’ve been clean a year and I’m 22 years old so I hope I have matured enough to be wise if I’m ever in a situation where I could relapse again.

It doesn’t work fro some people b/c some people aren’t ready to let go of it. But if someone’s ready, it works. Just like any treatment, right? I mean look at rehabs, they have the lowest success with people on painkillers, etc… How could this be worse??!!

    Actually, No. …
Actually, No. Opiate addiction can essentially “create” pain that isn’t there. This is a very similar mechanism to the physical pain that is associated with depression. In the case of depression it is to much Serotonin in your brain, with Opiates it is the fact that the number or dopamine receptors grows so rapidly that your body are not create enough dopamine to keep your brain functioning normally. He may have some pain but is it is small enough it can be managed by otc drugs! (Dr.)

    MAybe the reason …
MAybe the reason you have met NOBODY is because everyone you meet is at meetings holding each others hand….Believe it or not opiates dependency is a “physical disease” that if does not get treated by the appropriate doctors has emotional consequences. Sitting talking about it DOES NOT reverse the chemical imbalance in the brain. Its simply good medicine…

Then go to a 12 step program or something like it. I have met NOBODY that stayed clean long term from rapid detox, and I have worked in the field for many years.

    I went through a …
I went through a semi-conscious version of this to get off of methadone. I was sedated on lorazepam for 5 hours of absolute torture. THEN, then put in an 8 week naltrexone implant.
When I left that place, I wanted to die. I had not used heroin in 20 years, but it only took me a few days (I was insane after the treatment) to over-ride the implant, then ended up with a 3 gram a day habit….. If you have to detox, taper or go in a detox. There really are no short cuts.

your best bet at staying clean long-term is 12 step or similar recovery programs, hard work, and dedication. a treatment like this is not a cure-all, i know if i woke up after being rapid detoxed i would be out searching for pills immediately.
