oh and don’t forget …
oh and don’t forget about Conjunctival injection, which may predispose to a bacterial super-infection.
If what i’m saying is all wrong and i don’t know what i’m talking about them i might as well re-do my psychiatry clerkship or med.school all over again:)
ps: what you said regarding marijuana rebuilding neurons doesn’t also have sufficient evidence-based data regarding that, though you are correct as well.

- Acute intox. may …
– Acute intox. may induce tachycardia and orthostatic hypotension – which may be life-threatening mind you.
- Marijuana has been linked to infertility. In vitro studies report abnormal cell division and abnormal spermatogenesis resultin in decreased sperm counts. In males can cause decreased FSH secretion and subsequent testicular atrophy
- Small studies suggest that chronic marijuana use is associated with hepatic morphologic and enzymatic alterations, indicating possible hepatotoxic activity

A few more …
A few more quick-facts:
- Cannabis-induced cerebral atrophy or neuropsychological impairment does occur, though there are not enough clinically significant evidence-based studies regarding that matter.
- Cannabis smoke contains carcinogens similar to those found in tobacco smoke, and chronic heavy marijuana use may predispose people to chronic obstructive lung disease. Some studies indicate that pulmonary neoplasms are more common among habitual marijuana users.

marijuana is non …
marijuana is non toxic, its a fact. no one has ever died from using cannabis hemp in its history that spans millions of years…. you are terribly misinformed. I have not experienced long term side effects from using marijuana… and its also a fact that any psychosomatic pharmaceuticals are neurodegenerative. Meaning it kills your braincells… marijuana on the other hand actually rebuilds neurons… (1 toke a day) which makes it helpful for people with alzheimers disease. these are facts

Supportive …
Supportive treatment exists:
SSRIs, Neuroleptics and sometimes stimulants. Those are used to control aggression, hyperactivity, mood lability and things like stereotyped behavior. So yeah, you’re correct, not “asperger-directed” meds are available for the time being, but supportive therapy does play an important role, not to mention psychotherapy.

ADHD is diagnosed …
ADHD is diagnosed according to DSM-IV criteria and treatments include:
Psychotherapy (focus on behavioral modification techniques), parent counseling (parenting skills training and education), groupt therapy and pharmacotherapy which includes Methylphenidate, dextroamphetamine and pemoline. You can add some SSRIs or TCAs (though i’d avoid TCAs) as adjunctive therapy.
Those are the standards. it’s not a scheme. there’s not 1 way to treat a child, combination th. is the most important.

DANGER!! Do not …
DANGER!! Do not take or put your child on this “money making scheme” by the pharmaceuticals. If believe them just about every other child has ADHD. My daughter was supposedly diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed this dangerous drug. I found natural ways to assist her and greatly which improved her lack of attention issues. If you are a parent that truly cares and loves your child you will research this and find natural alternative methods to helping your child. RITALIN IS DANGEROUS!!

The long term …
The long term effects of methylphenidate such as drug addiction, withdrawal reactions, psychosis and depression and effects in pregnancy has received very little research and thus the long term effects of using stimulants for ADHD are largely unknown.
